SUSTAINABILITY

A sustainable business is a successful business – work with us now to reduce your cost base, mitigate your environmental impact and manage your utilities.

CARBON OFFSETTING

Carbon offsetting allows businesses and organisations to compensate for operational carbon dioxide that they produce, by investing in an accredited carbon reduction project, that gives an equivalent reduction of emissions elsewhere in the world.

This means that overall there is no net increase in the global greenhouse gas emissions as a result of the consumption of Fuels.

Carbon Offsetting provides a pragmatic and cost-effective solution for reducing CO2 emissions that can not be otherwise avoided.

Typically 1 litre of Kerosene will produce 2.5kg of Co2 when burnt.

Carbon Free Operations

How it Works

  1. Estuary Commercial Utilities reviews your fuel consumption each month, based on your delivered volume, or, overall delivered volume if you use more than one supplier.
  2. We do not need to be your supplier to offer this service as you can supply the data to us. You do not need to offset you total consumption – you can choose to offset part of it.
  3. Estuary Commercial Utilities calculate the amount of Carbon emitted due to your monthly operations. We then purchase the agreed amount of Voluntary Carbon Units on your behalf and then provide report covering analysis and offset project detail.

Benefits

  1. You offset all emissions associated with your operations
  2. Marketable carbon credentials e.g., branded vehicles, website
  3. Customers who choose to offset their fuel purchases know that you are doing ‘your part’

Carbon Offsetting – Summary

Carbon offsetting allows environmentally-conscious companies to bring about economic, social and health benefits to different communities by investing in projects that bring about positive change throughout the world, by netting out the Carbon they have produced.

There are also softer benefits, such as marketing, PR and tendering opportunities associated with Carbon Offsetting.

ALTERNATIVE FUELS

“As it stands, the UK will not comply with the European limits for air quality until 2025 and in London not until after 2030”

While the world needs more energy, it simply can’t sustain more carbon dioxide (CO2), nor the unacceptable levels of harmful particulate matter (PM) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) that traditional fossil fuel sources continue to emit.

HVO Fuel is a cleaner burning diesel alternative fuel that can be used in both on road and off road vehicles and machinery. Proven to reduce harmful nitrogen oxide and particulate matter emissions, reduce noise pollution and with winter-grade and biodegradable features, your business can improve its sustainability and environmentally credentials and benefits.

What is HVO fuel?

HVO fuel is a synthetic paraffinic fuel that’s stable, renewable, sustainable and high quality, making it perfectly suited for a wide range of applications including fuel for vehicles, generators and industrial power systems. As a premium-quality second-generation renewable diesel alternative, it’s made from 100% renewable raw materials. HVO is a drop-in alternative to fossil diesel, meeting EN 15940 standards and Fuel Quality Directive 2009/30/EC Annex II.

Why use HVO fuel?

Up to 90% reduction in greenhouse emissions: significantly better for the environment than regular diesel or biodiesel

  • Renewable, sustainable and carbon offset delivery mileage: synthesisedfrom waste fats and vegetable oils, eliminating up to 90% of greenhouse gas emissions and reducing NOx, PM and CO emissions in addition to recycling food waste. We also offset the carbon produced by our delivery tankers, further improving the fuel’s green credentials
  • Drop-in replacement for regular diesel & gas oil: meets EN15940 standard for paraffinic fuels and Fuel Quality Directive 2009/30/EC Annex II. A wide range of OEM approvals means it can often be used without needing engine and machinery modification
  • Excellent cold-weather performance: higher cetane number (up to 90) and low cloud point (-32OC) provides better starting performance, clean combustion and less chance of waxing in extreme temperatures
  • High flashpoint: improved safety, storage and handling compared to regular diesel
  • Reduced need for regular testing: impurities are removed during the production process, eliminating the key factors for fuel degradation and increasing shelf life to around 10 years

For every 1,000 litres of diesel burned, you will produce 3.6 tonnes of greenhouse gas CO2, compared to just 195kg GHG CO2 for every 1,000 litres of HVO burned.

As a drop-in fuel and with a wide range of OEM approvals, HVO can be used within existing fleets, equipment and machinery without changes to infrastructure or capital expenditure. This removes cost barriers and enables a practical step towards decarbonisation.

HVO Diesel and Gas Oil is available for delivery across the UK within 48 hours of order. To find out more or to start reducing your environmental footprint right away, call us today on (01291) 442295

COMMERCIAL LED LIGHTING

With the rising cost of energy and ever increasing demand for high efficiency lights, the LED market is rapidly expanding.

Whatever your requirements, Estuary Commercial Utilities offers full end to end support and can advise on all aspects, from design, specification, costing through to full install.

We work with all establishments and sectors; from hospitality, retail, offices, care homes and specialist setups like garage forecourts and hospitals.

What is LED?

  • LED lighting is a more energy-efficient alternative to the common halogen, incandescent, and fluorescent lighting options.
  • LED lights burn around 90% more efficiently than incandescent bulbs as they only consume a small amount of power. This makes LED much safer to use compared to traditional bulbs.
  • One of the most hazardous factors of lighting is the heat that they produce: traditional bulb burns more than 90% of the energy used to power them to produce heat. This means that only 10% of the energy used to power the bulb is used to emit light – therefore making them extremely inefficient compared to LED options.
  • LED lighting also has a long lifespan – the average LED can last for 50,000 to 100,000 operating hours or more which is 40 times longer than the average incandescent bulb.
  • LED lighting doesn’t contain any toxic chemicals which makes it a much more environmentally friendly option than fluorescent lights which contain hazardous materials such as mercury. In addition, their long lifespan means that there is less waste and material to be disposed of or recycled.

Give Estuary Commercial Utilities a call today to discuss your requirements – LED Commercial lighting should be a light bulb moment for your business!
